South korean food conglomerate Dongwon team said today it will certainly buy U.S. Canned tuna company StarKist to increase Dongwon"s sector presence in the joined States and also South America.

according to a Reuters report, Dongwon will hold a news conference on Thursday come announce the acquisition of "slightly" more than $300 million.

Del Monte foods items Co. Of mountain Francisco acquired StarKist in 2002 and recently announced to plan to explore a sale of that seafood division. High skipjack tuna prices space eating right into StarKist"s profits.

Del Monte is among the biggest producers, distributors and marketers that branded food and pet commodities for the U.S. Sleeve market, generating more than $3.7 exchange rate in network sales in budget 2008. StarKist accounted because that $600 million in sales critical year.

Dongwon team is southern Korea"s best-known brand for processed fish, making up around 75 percent of southern Korea"s crate tuna market.
